Urbaanilegenda album cover
The past weeks have been extremely busy with working. I have been working on a D&AD student awards competition entry, finishing the audio tour brief for college and doing internship works. But no matter how busy you are, there is always a small slot to squeeze in a nice and inspirational brief.
Above album cover is a result of one of those type of works that I just can’t walk passed. It is made for Finnish experimental hip hop trio Urbaanilegenda (Urban Legend). The cover image is shot by London based young talent Janne Tuunanen. The colour used in the type is inspired by on recent cover design of Bloomberg Businessweek. Apparently the actual printed magazine cover had orange type, but the web compression had twisted the type to look more like peach, a colour which we really liked. I wanted to keep the type as big as possible so it would still be readable in the small thumbnail size used in digital music stores such as iTunes.
